My teaching philosophy is based on three words: “excite, engage, and empower.” As a teacher, I strive to engage students through active, hands-on learning, inspire them to take ownership of their ideas both inside and outside the classroom, and spark their enthusiasm for the power of sociology. I relate classroom concepts to important social issues they care about by using interactive techniques, such as debates, simulations, video analyses, group projects, and fieldwork. I emphasize inclusivity, appreciating different points of view to create a welcoming environment where every voice is valued and counted. By tailoring the path to your interests and learning requirements, I'm dedicated to helping my students become more capable sociologists, analytical thinkers, and effective communicators.
